Build Your Circle
For Individuals, Families & Trusted Supporters

Your circle already knows what great support looks like.

MyCircle helps individuals and their circle build qualified support teams from trusted people who understand their goals, preferences, and daily life.

Start with who you trust

People who already show up.

Think about the people who already understand the individual and show up consistently. This may include relatives, friends, neighbors, or other trusted people in the community. MyCircle can help explore whether they may qualify for a Direct Support Professional role.

The process

We help turn a circle into a team.

  1. 01

The individual or a trusted circle member speaks with MyCircle.

  2. 02

MyCircle learns about the individual's authorized needs.

  3. 03

The circle identifies potential Direct Support Professional candidates.

  4. 04

    Candidates apply.

  5. 05

    MyCircle completes screening and qualification.

  6. 06

    Required training is completed.

  7. 07

Approved team members are matched with authorized hours.

  8. 08

MyCircle manages employment, payroll, documentation, and support.

Why this matters

You do not have to give up the relationships that matter most.

Choosing a provider should not mean losing the people who know the individual best. MyCircle is designed to work with the relationships already surrounding the individual and help make those relationships more sustainable, qualified, and supported.

Not every existing relationship can become paid employment. Every candidate is evaluated against applicable requirements.

Your role

Your role helps shape the team.

Family members and other trusted people may remain deeply involved in the individual's life and support. MyCircle does not assume that anyone wants — or needs — to step away.

Instead, we help the individual and their circle determine which responsibilities should remain personal, which trusted people may be able to join the paid team as Direct Support Professionals, and where additional coverage is needed.

The goal is to make the support arrangement more sustainable without losing the relationships and knowledge that make it successful.

Understanding IHSS

SLS and IHSS are different programs.

Some support may be delivered through Supported Living Services, while some personal support may be provided through IHSS or other resources. The employment, authorization, and payment structure is different for each program. MyCircle helps individuals and their circle understand and coordinate the applicable pieces.

When applicable, MyCircle can assist with the IHSS application and with recruiting, training, and managing an IHSS worker. MyCircle is not the employer of the IHSS worker.

Choosing support

Matching, recruiting, training.

MyCircle recruits, screens, and trains Direct Support Professionals with care — including trusted people the individual's circle identifies — and the individual participates in decisions about who supports them wherever possible. Matching considers communication style, interests, schedule, and fit.

FAQ

Questions people ask.

How will our family be involved?

Family involvement depends on the individual's preferences, legal decision-making arrangement, service plan, consent, and applicable privacy requirements. Parents, guardians, conservators, and other authorized representatives may have different responsibilities. MyCircle clarifies these roles during intake so the team understands who participates in planning, communication, and decisions.

Who makes decisions?

Decision-making depends on the individual's abilities, rights, preferences, and legal arrangements. Some individuals make decisions independently or with support. Others may have a guardian, conservator, or authorized representative with defined authority. Families also contribute essential practical knowledge. MyCircle works within the applicable legal and Planning Team structure rather than assuming one arrangement applies to everyone.

What happens if support needs change?

Support is reviewed and can be adjusted over time as goals and needs evolve, through the applicable planning and authorization process — not unilaterally by MyCircle.

How are support professionals selected?

MyCircle begins by asking whether the individual's family or existing circle already knows trusted people who may be strong Direct Support Professional candidates. Those candidates may apply and must complete all applicable screening, qualification, training, and employment requirements. When more coverage is needed, MyCircle can also recruit additional Direct Support Professionals.

How will MyCircle communicate with us?

With the individual's permission, MyCircle aims to keep families and trusted supporters informed at key points in the process. Exact frequency and method are worked out based on the individual's preferences and the situation.

What if the individual does not want certain information shared?

The individual's consent and privacy are respected. Not all information is automatically shared with family — what is shared, and with whom, follows the individual's wishes and applicable rules.

Does Supported Living mean living alone?

Not necessarily. Supported Living means living in a home of one's own choosing — that can mean living alone, with a roommate, or near family, depending on the person's preferences and plan.

How do IHSS and other resources fit into the support plan?

In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) and other generic resources may be part of the overall support picture for some individuals, coordinated alongside SLS when applicable. Your Service Coordinator can help you understand how the pieces fit together for your specific situation.
